Linksys SPA2102

SIt is an analogue-IP adaptor that allows the connection of 2 analogue telephones and therefore of 2 lines. It does not have a display but it has two Ethernet ports that make it possible for it to be installed between the switch and a PC without having to rewire.

Step 1: Wiring

To power the adaptor, it must be connected to a wall socket using the transformer included. The transformer is mounted as described here. You must connect the transformer's plug to the corresponding input in the adaptor, as shown in the figure.

Since the terminal has two Ethernet ports, its installation is possible without an additional cable to its router or switch. If you already have a cable up to, for example, a PC located in the same seat, just connect said cable to the adaptor (in the Ethernet connector marked Internet) and the cable included with the adaptor, from the adaptor to the PC (from the connector marked Ethernet of the adaptor). If this is not possible, you will have to connect a cable from the router to the Ethernet connector marked Internet.

Step 2: Analogue telephone connection

The analogue telephone or telephones must be connected to the Phone 1 and Phone 2 inputs using a traditional telephone cable. If you were using the telephones before, you can use the same cables you were using by connecting them to the adaptor.

Paso 3: Setup

Once the adaptor has been connected to the network, if you have DHCP in your network (it is the most usual case) the telephone will take an address in your local network automatically. Otherwise, the adaptor should be previously included in the network manually. To this end, contact your network administrator and consult the adaptor's manual.

Once the adaptor is in the network, it can be set up using its MAC ID (it is printed on the sticker on the back of the adaptor). The telephones and adaptors must be set up using our Configurer following the steps indicated here.

If you cannot use our Configurer you must complete the adaptor's setup following the steps in its manual and using the SIP setup that you may obtain in the control panel's extensions.

Once both steps are completed, you can start using the telephones connected to the adaptor as described in the Dialing section.
